I was able to take a few shots myself with the Achromatic Plus.
I'm not a portrait photographer but I really liked what i could achieve with the Achromatic + . it is possible to take excellent B/W images with a colour Phase One back and convert them in Capture One, however it is not the same as having only Black & White and then thinking in Black & White for composition. And then have the ability to work with different filters that see the light and focus differently.
Image 1 was taken with a TG1 IR fliter.
- On a Phase One DF camera & Schneider 80mm f2.8 lens
The TG1 IR filter pulls out much more tonel range and black infomation in the image.
- 125th second 50 iso f7.1
Image 2 was taken with No filter at all, just the naked sensor.
- On a Phase One DF camera & Schneider 80mm f2.8 lens
With No filter you get a very clean image which gives a very clean white.
As this Elvis had heavy makeup on the effect on the skin is very smooth like posonline
- 125th second 50 iso at f10
Image 3 was taken with a Green (X1) filter.
it was at this point that I droped the TG1 and it smashed. I had put an old (X1) in my bag in the hope of trying it out not having to use it.
- On a Phase One DF camera & Phase One 75-150 f4.5 zoom lens
The Green filter makes the out of focusb detail very soft and the sharp detail vet sharp like 50's half plate.
- 125th second 50 iso at f5.6
